seasport - I will have to tell my son about that quizlet you talked about. It sounds like a good thing to do when you are just sitting around with nothing to do. Now, it that an app he can download?
Petra - It amazes me that there are 700-800 that graduate each week. You'd think classes would be continuous. My son's checking into the BECC quizlet that was mentioned by J's Wife, below. That will give him something to do when he's bored. Things change all of the time, so I'm praying classes start sooner for them.
seasport - My son is also on hold until April and he too is getting sick of the snow. He can't wait to start A school. It must be extremely boring with nothing to do.
So awesome he loves his job! Best wishes to you & your sailor! God bless them all!
seasport- he finished in october. It took him a little over 15 weeks from start to finish, with holds. Then we just had to wait for orders (thankfully it only took about a week, i've heard it take way longer). We're in Norfolk, VA, now. He's attached to an aircraft carrier and loves it.
J's Wife - I'll let him know! Has your husband finished HT school? How did he like it? Was it about 12 weeks?
seasport- he could probably get the quizlet app on his phone. Then I think my husband just searched the premade study templates.
J's Wife - thanks for that information! I'll let him know, but where can he get the BECC quizzlet?
seasport- There's a quizzlet template made for BECC (the first course he'll take before strand school). My husband used it during the course, but your son and his friends could get a little preview, if they wanted. My husband said BECC was the hardest part of his schooling, so it might be worth it to get ahead. Make sure he utilizes the MWR for events, they do a great job in Great Lakes. Kind of reminded me of a college campus. Good luck to your son, though! :)
My son said he may be on hold until April! He's a bit discouraged. He'd talked to another HT sailor that's been on hold since November. Nothing like hurrying up & waiting!
