Good Evening Ladies,
My computer was giving me grief today and I have not been able to get online until now. I was ready to turn it into an anchor!!!!
Mary, thank you for the info. I'm not sure where we will be staying yet. Since my computer would not cooperate with me, my husband was going to go online and find a place to stay. We've been to VB twice before but the hotels always change names between our stays. Last time tho' we stayed up by Norfolk because we went to watch the Enterprise's homecoming on Chris's last cruise. I can ask my Chris how he got his base sticker which your Chris will need to keep his car on base through all of his school. Chris drove his car there when he started so he can tell your son what he needs to do.
And CK knows who your son is now. There are 3 Chris's in that class but I don't know who the 3rd one is. He must be your son's Hooter's pal because my Chris said he wasn't there the other night with the other guys.
Now I need to update my notes because I got a little lost - - - -
Valerie, what week is your son Wes in? Has he heard anything more on his C school?
Rene, what week is Jared in and have you heard from him about his test yet? That was today right? I keep saying a prayer for all our boys in IS school.
Dawn, I never got a chance to tell you how beautiful your daughter is. I looked at some of your pictures and got a chuckle from them. Some of her expressions reminded me of my Catherine. By the way - my pictures got approved so I have pictures of Chris up now and some of Catherine and her twin Jennifer.
How is everyone else doing?

Anna, I'm sure you've got more experience than I with this stuff and your Chris is more capable of getting military info together than my Chris but here's what I've found out today. The Pass and ID office at Oceana (which also serves the Annex) is closed on Saturdays but the guard at the gate can issue a 24 hr. pass when your sailor meets you at the gate. If you need to extend the pass, the Pass and ID office is open from 1:00-3:00 on Sunday. If you choose to stay at the NAVY Lodge while you are there, the check-in time is 3:00pm. The info may not interest you but someone may need it so I thought I'd post it.

Mary,
I just had a quick call from Chris as he was heading back to his barracks. He said he wasn't in the group of Hooter's guys but he's pretty sure now who the other Chris's are that I told him about!!! He was saying he can just hear the comments when the Navy gets ready to do their top secret clearances and finds out that all their moms are in communications with each other!!!!

Anna, I did some more checking in the area and I have decided to stay at NAVY Lodge when I take Chris' car this weekend.

Congratulations Deanna,
Enjoy your time in Great Lakes. Hope you get to spend plenty of time with your son. My son just finished his first week of A school. He is a Fleet Returnee. I also have a daughter serving in WA.
Looking forward to getting to know you.

CONGRATS to you Deanna!!! You almost gotcha a sailor! I know you are excited to get to see him very soon! It will be wonderful. I hope the weather is good for you and that you will be able to have some time with him after his PIR. Welcome to Ellen's page! She has done a great job with it. If you have not read there are moms of sailors already in the IS field, in "A" school and moms of USN Reservists here. Feel free to jump in anytime, especially next week when you come back home and Jeff leaves for another leg of his journey. One of our moms Wendy, her son Jason is at Dam Neck waiting for IS class to start so there are people here who will know almost week for week what you are going through.
Have a great evening!

Anna, if you find the need to stay overnight at Dam Neck the NAVY Lodge has rooms there for $59. That's 2 quns and kitchenette. I believe that's where I will stay next weekend although I'm going to check out a couple of other places in the area and check on the price of a cottage but I don't think I'll need anything that large for just one night.

My prayers are with Jared and Wes both. I'm sure Jared will do fine and he might would do better if he would try to get out and relax a bit but they all have to deal with it in their own way. He had last weekend away so maybe he really does not mind. I hope Wes gets into a new class soon but hopefully he is getting a bit of a preview on upcoming units.

Rene,
I will be praying for Jared. Learning how to deal with stress is a difficult thing for our young people to do. I have a daughter that always stresses herself to the point of getting sick. Let us know how he does. Tell him we are all supporting him like our own!!
