Hi My3Sons! He is doing great. It is very intense, especially the first few weeks. I barely spoke to him, but he is loving it. The guys are extremely close and have some down time, but all in all it is very intense - weekly tests, lots of PT and training. He's about a month and a half in, so now it varies day to day. Some days are easier and some days are tough. How is everything in pre dive?
My fiance's pre dive grad was on a Thursday.
I believe my son's was on Monday
Hi MY3SONS and CourtRenee,
Would you mind sharing how the transition was handled after PIR was finished? Did your loved ones have anytime with you on Sat or Sun? Will they have periodic times to call after the first 3 or so during the 6 weeks in GL? I know its only a 1/2 mile down the road....so I am praying they let us have a little time together after PIR. :--)
Thank you CourtRenee! Its all so exciting and yet overwhelming. I will join N4M's as soon as I get the PIR!
Hi Ladies! My son just left for BC and will be expected to attend his 6 weeks post GL training thereafter. This is still so new to us. The information you have posted is helping us to get an idea of what to expect in the future! I look forward to chatting with you all and learning from your experiences! I welcome a friend request as I noticed most pages are set to private. Is that due to the ND MOS? We dont have a PIR of course but will post just as soon as we received it!
I am an anxious but Proud Mom!I
CourtRenee - are you asking about Dive Prep grad in GL or Dive A School grad in PC? I just returned from Dive Prep grad, well, unfortunately I missed it due to a flight delay, but my sailor said no family members attended, although, they are more than welcome, and it was a very short/small ceremony. You mentioned 6 weeks, so just wanted to see if you're referring to Dive Prep.
CourtRenee, my Sailor finished right in the middle of the class. He said some things were harder than others. I guess he liked it, he really didn't comment. At his graduation, all of the families showed up. There were only 10 in the class, so others probably didn't notice the family members that were there.
AdamsProudMama- how did your sailor say PC was? I know of course very exhausting and tiring, but overall did he like it? do well?
I told my hubby I plan on coming to his graduation in about 6 weeks or so and he told me he didn't really see anyone's families come to the prior diver graduation? But as you all said it is a small graduation so probably only a handful of people will come watch, right!?!?!
