The ceremony is short and it's in one of the classrooms. Yes, they get free time to be with you.

The ceremony was held in the school house. It lasted about a half hour. My Sailor came back to our hotel after getting his gear from his room. He has leave until he has to report to his duty station. He's coming home with us. I'm a happy mummy right now :)

Adamsproudmama & CaronMS ND Mom- where was the ceremony held? & about how long was it? I am definitely attending my sailors :) also, did they get anytime to hang out with you afterwards or do they have to go straight back to work??

We attended Dive class 13-20-2C today. It was a short, but wonderful ceremony. So proud of the 10 young men who worked very hard for the title of USN Diver. Congratulations to them and their families. Hooray!! If your Sailor is at prep or at dive school now, make the trip to this graduation ceremony.

Thank you, CaronMS ND Mom!  I appreciate the info!  Just three days left of diver prep....praying!

We went to both dive prep and diver graduation. There was actually a number of family's at prep graduation. No, it's not as big a deal as diver grad but we live in St. Louis so it was an easy drive. Definitely attend diver grad!

Hi CourtRenee!  No, I'm staying put while he's in PC.  I'm going to try and visit monthly.

anchor12- thanks so much for the info! are you planning on moving to PC w him for dive school?

Thanks, Inaipaul!  I've heard the same thing, some family members attend, but it's not a huge deal, definitely not like Dive School grad.

CourtRenee - my fiance is finishing up dive prep this week, graduating next week. He started dive prep at the end of February and that was roughly 6 weeks, just to help you out with timing.  He didn't find out the graduation date until the end of last week.

I did not attend dive prep in GL. My son said it was no big deal. Graduation from Dive school is what you want to attend. He said only one parent came to dive prep graduation. It depends on your kid if they will like you there. Thats all I know about it.
