My sailor explained the watch thing.  He said because of what his group falls under they are isued field watches not dive watches.  I suppose if he was doing something else it would have been a dive watch.  But anyway, he's been looking at them now so it may be an easy Christmas present for him.  One down!

Asked my sailor. He was issued a watch but not a dive watch.

The dive prep graduation information you should get from your sailor.  We didn't get any formal invite, he just told us when it was.  Also, I was not aware that my sone got issued a dive watch when he got to Honolulu, he never said anything.  i have asked him though and will let you know.

Just asked my son. He says it only effects the guys near the end of their tours.  It also depends on their evals and stuff 9as he puts it).

My son graduated from Divers Prep last August and there was a small ceremony.  It was very lo-key and small, but it was nice.  The grad in PC was really nice too, his grandparents made it to this one and really enjoyed it.

The military has been cutting jobs but the special ops has had some changes. There is enough navy divers so they have not been aggressive with recruiting them. I know my son has to take a yearly physical test in order to stay a navy diver. They have made some changes and requirements to keep working as a diver. I know my son told me that before in dive prep if you fail something they would work with you all that has change. You fail r out from what he has said. If divers are unable to pass the physical they will be put in a different position. If your son is in special ops unit not much changes only physical changes.. hope this helps
