Just an update...thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts.  My ex came through his surgery and is now stable.  His spine is fused from T5 to L1 (at least that is what the plan was before surgery and we weren't told any different), and they were able to remove the part of the tumor that was on the backside of his spine.  It will be sent to pathology to determine how to get rid of the rest of it.  Anyway, step one accomplished and now we move on.  Thank you again.

Oh, and for the cherry on top, my sailor emailed me first thing this morning saying they were all "there" and working.  BOOYAH!

CaronMS, so sorry! I'll keep him in our prayers and for your family as well. It's so difficult when you have problems at home, knowing what to say, or not say, to your son/daughter that is on deployment or needing their full focus and attention to their position in the Navy. Big hugs to you all!!!!!

Hi Ladyhawk,

Try military one source. I was able to find out a bunch of financial information there for my son. If he is station somewhere let him ask his chief. Hope this helps.

Hi CaronMS,

Will keep him in my prayers and your son. My son deploys in a couple of months. I know I will be a wreck cause it is his 1st deployment. As moms we need to stick together cause our boys do need us.

I usually don't comment or chime in here a lot, I enjoy following along with everyone's stories. Right now though I' hoping for some prayers. My kids' dad (my ex) is in the hospital with a tumor on his spine. We don't know exactly what it is. Tuesday he has surgery. Prayers please. As a side note, our nd left on his first deployment Thursday. He instructed my NOT to inform him of bad news. So please, pray for his dad.

I should also add...the crab fingers appetizer is NOT very good. Sound much better than it tasted.

txmom...congratulations to your son and the others!!!

There is a GREAT restaurant there.....Angelo's Steak Pit. Seriously, probably the BEST ribeye steak we've ever had! We were visiting our son one weekend and he told us how good it smells every time they rode by it. Well....we had to try it. I'm not kidding when I say, it's worth the money!!! ($22 for 13 oz) We knew it had been a while since he had a good steak to eat, so he was worth spoiling some :)

Hi Txmom,

The graduationis inside and very short. Your son will give you a tour after graduation. I stayed on base its very cheap. There is a hotel across the street but Ican,t remember the name you can google "hotel across street from base". Alot of parents stayed there, after graduation we met up with others kids and parents at magaritaville resturant which is about 15 minutes away. Have fun .
