Hi, I'm new to this group. My son got back to GL today and will begin dive prep with the class that is starting up.  His PIR was 11/4 and division 822. He was held  up in THU after graduation so didn't get to go through with his division.  Any one else who has a sailor beginning dive prep with this January group?

Inaipaul, it takes about 2-3 weeks to get mail to the on ships. My nephew is out there now. They say don't send anything that will melt, like chocolate. Hope that helps.....and Happy New Year to you and your family also! :)

Hi,

I want to wish everyone a happy new year. I hope you all were able to visit with your sailors this holiday season.

Does anyone knows if you can send cookies to someone station on a ship? Do you know how long it will take for someone to get mail on ship? Any info  thanks

Inaipaul-I am so sorry to hear about your son's robbery. So glad that he caught the guy and gave him a going over.

Congrats to all the family and divers at their Jan. 23rd dive school graduation. It is a wonderful ceremony!

Hi all,

Just a little info If you have boys station in Virginia beach, my son got rob at his front door this week. Apparently during the winter months the robbers target the locals from virginia beach. My son was able and lucky that he chase the guy and beat the crap out of that guy. The guy will be charge. I am soo worried everyday that I have him call me everyday so I can makesure he is ok.  I want to get the word out so the boys can be aware. My son is young and naiave. I hope he can be more aware of his surroundings. Takecare

Just found out my diver son will be heading to Hawaii after graduation in January!  Time to start saving for those plain tickets to visit. :)

Inaipaul, Good luck to your son. The divers do take care of each other, just like family. For me, that is very reassuring!
