Ladyhawk - Its this month issue of TIME magazine. I got it at the check out counter at the grocery store (my second home I am there alot lol). I am not sure about online. The whole magazine is dedicated to military.
I was wondering where I could find a camera for my son to put on his helmet for surfing and snowboarding. Does anyone know. Thats his Christmas present. I need to start shopping soon.
Cranny - while in panama city my son did not have transportation so him and his friends bought bikes. Its about a 30 minute ride to the tourist section. He got one for fifty dolars and left it there after graduation.
Cranny The hotel directly across the street from base is a LaQuinta. We stayed there in April when our Diver graduated. It was very basic but clean, quiet and the staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat.
When we left after graduation, our New Diver left his graduation certificate and group picture in the room. We called a few days after getting home and they had it there for us. :-) They mailed it back to us right away.
I think we paid $89.00 a night. This included a small breakfast in the morning, (cereal, yogurt, fruit, waffles), that you make for yourself. I think you have to tell them you are there for graduation to get that rate. (Not dertain on that)
There is a Hooter's within walking distance. Not sure your Sailor's age but many of our Sailors spent a lot of time in there. hahaha It is RIGHT across the street form base. Your Sailor can walk to your room.
Inaipaul- Thanks for the tip about the Time magazine article. I will have to check it out.
Cranny-I am very fond of Panama City. I love that little navy base there and the dive school is top-notch' so your diver will get the best in training.
Cranny - congrats your son will love panama city. Is he coming home for Thanksgiving? I think October is a great time to go to Panama city cause they get to come home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My son also started dive school in October.
The TIME magazine has dedicated its whole magazine to Special ops. Check it out. It shows some of the training that our sons had to endure. Most is about the navy seals. I think it really shows how great the navy men are dedicated to this country. Its about time the specials ops division got some recgonition.
