Hi txmom....wow....I have been doing the same thing all morning! Sure hope it helps! These guys have worked so hard and I can't imagine anything going wrong. My son was also a little down last night. His original dive buddy did not make it...they let him go on Friday. He said it's hard to watch them have to leave when he knows how bad they wanted to be there. I am sending lots of prayers for all the guys...I hope they all get through today and ace this testing!

Emotional wreck this morning....my son is in Dive Prep in GL and today is his last day of pool week! Taking final pool testing....when he gets through this he will be on way to Panama. I guess moms never get too old to worry about their children. I spoke with him last night and he is fine and of course told me to not to worry. Being a Navy Diver is his dream....he has worked so hard and given up so much to follow his dream. His is only twenty and for the past two years while all of his friends have been focused on having fun, his focus has been on how to make himself strong enough mentally and physically to become a diver. Please just keep him in your prayers today.

Wow, that sounds so much like our son! He had originally thought of being a SEAL then changed his mind when he saw the diver division. We were happy about that. He joined the Navy before he graduated and started training, but he had to wait until he got his diploma. I fully think he would have left the day he signed his papers!! It couldn't come quick enough for him. He had told us what the diver does, scary but I wanted all the facts. And, I did some research myself...haha. I think the only thing that will keep him from finishing dive school would be an injury. And...I think he would just "grin and bare" the pain if he knew he wouldn't be allowed to finish. It really must be a small community...I've seen other Mom's on here for specops, but not too many for the diver program. We're real proud of him as I know you are of  your son. That's such a huge accomplishment for your son at such a young age!! Thank you so much for sharing all this with me...I really appreciate any information!!

Zenda, my son loves being a diver. In order to be a navy diver you will have to work hard at it. The school is grueling soo very mentally exhausting but they do become the best in the world. They pay soo close attention to very small details. My son has voice to me about going for seal cause he wants another chanllege. When you graduate as a diver that means you really want it. My son has been working on being a navy diver since he was sixteen. He graduated at 18it from dive schoolas the yougest diver in the navy. Dive school will weed out the weak for sure their training is very hard. They start at 4am n end at 8 at it night everyday. You have to exprience how drowning feels, my son told me he drowned/blackout many times after he graduated. He knew I would freak out but it is something they have to exprience as I said if you want it you will fight for it. My son loves his job. He is an explosive diver n I pray for him everyday because he is only 19. I hope I did not freak you out but it is a cheap tough program but they become great men. Very very small community. Bye

Inaipaul...so glad you're able to visit your son often!!! Let me ask you....is the diving what he expected or does he like it more/less than he thought?

That wouldn't be a bad deal if our son was stationed in Virginia Beach. One of his favorite Aunts lives close by so he would be able to spend some time with her while on liberty.

Love the jokes, Ladies! As far as the cartoons go, once everyone had read them, they used them to clean mirrors and windows in BC. Those are true divers..always resourceful.
