Can you give me the link to the newsletter site? I would like to show it to another group that I belong to. It's a group of mothers that have been together since our Sailors have been in boot camp and all of our Boys are in special rates, ie, divers, air rescue swimmers and EOD's. It won't let me copy and paste. You help will be most appreciated. :-)
Inaipaul- You are absolutely right about how close the divers become to each other. My son talks each day about this person or that person in his class. They formed a brotherhood that will live on.
We didn't eat at Margaritaville in PC but have in Orlando. It is a fun place! We did tour St Andrews area but not the park. Thanks for the suggestions. Let's all keep in touch. This group has helped me so much.

This was my first time at Panama City. My son wanted to show us the Dive facility and all the workings there. It was really interesting. You have got to see the new 40 ft deep pool. It is gorgeous and it has windows so you can observe if there is anyone in the pool.
Caron-he will be in the water constantly. There is a channel next to the Dive facility bldg that they use constantly for PT and exercises.
Gerry-we stayed on base and ate at the mess hall, but we did also venture out to tour Panama City. All your son had to do was sign you up when you go into the dining hall and pay. For lodging, your son can make reservations only 2 wks before your visit. It certainly saved us money and we got to meet alot of the fellow divers.
Hope you all get to visit there.
Caron-I think I saw your son's group on Sunday arriving a PC. Congrats to him for making it to Dive School. You should go visit him at PC. It is a very small base, the mess hall has good food(we ate with our son there breakfast and dinner and it was cheap). Navy Lodging was clean, cheap and the beds were comfy.
My son just graduated from Dive School Monday, August 29th. 15 out of 38 from Dive Prep made it! Kudos to the instructors who mentored these young men! We are so very proud of our son and the whole class. Hooyah!
