Hi all,

Came down to virginia beach visiting my son. Helping him to furnish his new home. Its beautiful down here. My younger son broke his hand at. Surf camp. Hurrecaine. Irene is suppose to hit on saturday so we are heading back home to baltimore. They are having a crossfit fundraiser on sept 3 to benefit the 31heros that lost their lives couple weeks ago to benefit the families. I think the website is 31heroes.com if anyone wants to donate. Inaipaul-thank you so much for your kind words. All of our divers have special gifts and are happy when they can use to the fullest!

Bensmom congrats to him pensacola is nice from what I heard. My son said you need to be a diver for six years before being a diver so I do think they saw something in him. Takecare

Inaipaul-He is 26 years old and does not have a medical background- his college major was business. He was told that he was picked specifically for this position. I don't know much more than that. He has to go to Instructor's school in Pensacola and then to Jacksonville. It is a 3 year gig and the Navy wants him to finish his degree. Maybe they do see something more than Diver for him..I know that he LOVES being a diver and the fellow divers!

Bensmom - How old is he and does he have a medical background? I have not heard of graduating dive school and then off to being an instructor. They might see something special in him as being a leader.

Bensmom-My son is graduating from Dive School in PC on Aug. 29th. He has orders to be an instructor in Jacksonville for medical and other rates who need to update their education. Has any mom here had there son go right from Dive School into an instructor's role? I don't know too much about it!

ger Thanks so much for the support. He will do fine and is already looking forward. The medical issue is not serious, but just enough to get him bumped. It sounds like he will be in GL until he gets another contract. Thanks again. Becky

Son just got bumped from pre-dive school in GL for medical reasons. Does anyone out there know what a "medical hold" is or where it happens? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Wamomofchris,
I am thinking he would have to get a dive contract and go through dive school. I do not know if you can change in bc. Special ops has a different division in bc. Lots more training than regular bc. Sorry I am not much of a help. I will ask my son tommm after work.
