The first 3 weeks r tough. They have to get up at 4 for workout n then mandatory study but its get alot easier after that. If he got to panama city he's almost done. It is soo beautiful there. I think the instructors there just want to feel the guys out for the fiirst couple weeks. My son bought a bike n rode everywhere. He paid 50 dollars for it. Once again congrats and happy birthday to your son. Takecare liza

Mine is just finishing up at GL. He'll be on his way to PC next week sometime. Is Panama City tough physically? academically? both?  Just really, really happy he finished dive prep successfully...

Hi veryproud - They are mostly station in virginia since the base is a special ops training facility. Just a handful will go overseas. I know one of the guy in my sons class was married with kids so he ended up being station in panama city with his family. My son just love being a diver. He drives home to Baltimore from Virginia every week . He always brings another sailor with him. I have a mama's boy. lol

Have a safe holiday

Veryproud - From what I've heard from my husband they can go to Virginia, Groton, CT, Kings Bay, GA, Jacksonville, FL, San Diego, Washington State (there are about 4 bases in the Seattle area) and mostly only single sailors can get Hawaii, Japan, or Guam.

Ever since my husband and I moved away from my hometown a few years ago, my parents keep threatening to drive up in an RV and park it in our driveway for months.... Definitely not going to happen, but they have a guest bedroom with their name on it! ;)

Very Proud   I'm not certain of ALL the places but these are a few that I know of off hand

Guam, Hawaii, Washington State, Virginia, Japan, I'm sure there are a lot more but these are the ones that I know of that my son has told be his friends are stationed.

That's pretty funny about moving to where he is stationed. My son would have had a coronary if I said that. ha ha

I know you miss him but think of all the really cool things he is and will be doing.

Sailors Princess      If I remember correctily it was 2-3 weeks before graduation.  They have a wish list.  But that doesn't always mean they get their first choice.  Most of the diver's in my son's group got their second choice but they are All happy.  A couple got their first choice.  Hope this helped  :-)
