Ladyhawk, yes when they get to bc there is soooooooo many shots. When you leave for bootcamp please tell your son to get sleep the night before becaue when he gets to greatlakes he will be up for 36hrs straight going throug the process its like a factory assembly line. Then they may go to bed about 1am then have to be up by 4am spec ops division only, other division 6am. They will get used to it. Like I said my son wa sdeathly ill but working out made him feel better.

After dive program do the boys get tocome home and if they do for about how long. It sure does take a special breed to complete dive prep or any of these spec ops training. I am feeling sick then I think these boys go through training while they are sick. I remember my son was deathly ill when he started bootcamp from the hundreds of shots they gave to him but his determination to get through that training was amazing. All they give you there is tynenlol, that's it. God bless our kids and my prayers are with them from day to day. They all surely need it.

wow lnaipaul!  An air bubble in his lung?  I thought your lungs were full of air anyway!  Showing off my anatomy-ineptitude.  ;)

I love hearing about the rigors and so forth that y'all's divers are going through -- mine is just starting Dive Prep, so it's nice to hear what's ahead for us!

Thanks ger. Hope everthing is okay with your son. I also have buuterfilies in my stomach if he makes it where he will get deployed to. I am such a worry wart. I feel like I am walking on egg shells everyday until dive shool is over. You never know from day to day. I can,t imagine what the boys go through. I know one kid got an air bubble in his lung do to his voice change which gave a clue something was wrong so he got pushed back 2weeks. I keep preaching to my son to follow the dive rules reliously cause their life depends on it. Takecare

I gave my sons jeep to his cousin to help get around while at college. I know USAA give them huge insurance break if they are deploy. Navy federal has many good information to help them if they need to keep their car. As a mother especially of young boys (my is 18) you really need to be there for them to counsel them finacially. After bootcamp there are certain people waiting to get hold of the kids money after bootcamp. As a parent you need to look out for the boys and warn them of people that might try and scam them.

LadyHawk

Our son is still in PC.  He has no payment on his car.  It's an OK car.  Certainly not brand new.  We  have talked about selling it for him.   He is OK with that but we haven't moved on it yet.  Right now it's in our driveway.  I think when summer comes and it gets in the way of taking the boats out we will probably make a move.  I know that sounds harsh but I think when he gets out (if he doesn't decide to reenlist) he will want a new car anyway.  Hope this helped.
