I think that they have to pay for them when they order them.  My son paid for his then I reimbursed him the money.

FRIENDS!!  I HAVE A SAILOR!!  :D  <-- {super cheesy grin}

Got the call last night that his whole division passed Battlestations 21, so we're off and running!  Next hurdle:  Diver Prep . . . (is it "Dive" Prep or "Diver" Prep?  Don't want to be doing it wrong!)

veryproud:  My recollection is that you have to meet certain physical requirements in order to be eligible for the Navy in general.  I remember several guys in my son's DEPper pool who were dieting and/or working out like maniacs in order to make the cut.  The Prince never had to worry about that, (he's the only one in our family blessed in that way, but we kept him anyway) so I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to whether they had to meet the requirement before signing at all, before signing for a particular job, before shipping out, or whatever.

I wanted to be helpful, but I may have confused things more.  Hmmm . . . anyway, there IS a physical height/weight ratio that they have to meet at some point!  LOL!

Hi ladies yeah its hard to say they are divers until they graduate from pc. My son had fail in dive prep n they gave him one more chance. I was a mess at work all day when I got his text that he pass n we,ll be going to pc. What I have learn is that the boys really need to pay attention to small details especially in pool, that's the huge challenge for them no matter how great of a swimmer they are. My son is only 18 and the youngest. He has learn the hard way. God bless him I pray everyday that he keep his head up high. All our boys are working soo hard keep the prayers for them.
