Yeah, we're all very excited to say "we have a diver" but have (so far) been careful to say "he has a diver contract."  Don't want to jinx anything.  And although I DID use the diver insignia on his little Navy Christmas tree that we had before he left, I haven't gone ape with anything else.

Having said that, I will tell you that he was gifted a Navy Diver t-shirt by his trainer dude (retired Seal) before he even left for boot camp!  I guess that guy had a lot of faith in him!!  LOL!

Exxie...our PIR was amazing. But I must have more gray hair now our flight out of Norfolk was the first flight after the blizzard. I can't believe the young men we have. I have to tell everyone a funny story ....I. got my sailor a diving t shirt and some stickers and he very respectfully said thank you but why did you get those ...I am not a diver yet..I only have a contact I still have to earn the title .......gotta luv him ...:)

@findebi & rickiemae:  Well, your guys will have the place warmed up for mine!  We're going for PIR next weekend (2/18) and I'm told he will move over to Diver Prep on the 23rd.  Glad to hear you did the locker thing, rickiemae, as we're planning to do the same.  How was our PIR?  On my PIR group, we were all saying prayers for you guys with the snowstorms and so forth.  Were there driving issues and/or kids whose parents couldn't get their flights to attend?

Oldest of 4   You should be proud  :-)  Good for your Sailor taking a leadership role and also taking advantage of what he had previously learned and sharing it with the others.  You have taught him well.  God bless you both.

Talked to my son today. He is really excited about this go around. He called a meeting to give the ones that classed up a heads up. They meet tomorrow nite. He hopes to clue them in on the weeks ahead so they won't get beat up as bad.(we hope) He has really taken a leader stand. Really proud of him.

Findibi n rickimae congrats to r sons for making to pre dive. Tell them to load up on the vitamin n get sleep, sleep sleep. Its important. My son took melatonin some time to get to sleep early. Sned them fish oil n cnentrum. N protein bars. Things are soo expensive there n the cab drivers charge them soo much. I hate how they took advantage of the boys. Tell to go ut in groups n split the fare. Bod bless bye liza

That would be nice. We hope to go back to GL late March if the tickets don't get too expensive. Can't wait till they get to PC. We can go see him alot easier. How far is the PC drive for you?
