Bren Thank you :o) That makes me feel better. I know it's going to be tough but a 1 in 2 chance is better than 1 in 6. Also thanks for the certificate info. Do you remeber what exaclty they did in dive prep? Was is just PT and classroom? Just wondering. Thanks :o)

Hello everyone. CKH-I haven't heard anything different either except he is ready to get started. :)

Hi Sandy, My husband had his PIR on 9/2 and is scheduled to leave for PC (god willing) on the 27th of October. from what I understand a dive prep class is currently going through and once this next group(the one my husband is in) has a full class in about a month ( give or take) they will begin their process. Generally I heard prep can take anywhere between 3-5 weeks. Again, this is only what I have heard. If I get any solid info I will let you know. I hope this helps at least a little.

Bren Thank you for the freat information. 1 in 4 is a little scary but I have confidence in my son. Let's hope he has the same in himself. Congratulations to you and your son. I'm glad to know that he in enjoying it. I'm sure that's why he's made it so far. Ditto what CKH said about any info you can share. It's all appreciated. :o)

Thank you both for clarifying. I am getting really nervous, but thinking all positive thoughts. My husband is older as well, has been through the college party scene and has 2 kids. I am fairly positive that he is over all that scene. Richsmom, it seems like we are desperate for info and Joyce you have been wonderful. Can you recommend some places for me to do some more searching for info? :)

Joyce Thank you again for some great information. You know at this stage we know absolute;y nothing and appreciate that you more experienced moms are such a greast help. My son is older and I do believe that he's been there and done that. He is serious about this so we will cross our fingers. Your statistic seems to be more like 50%. That's a bit better isn't it? Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend.
