CKH I'm not certain if that's a real statistic. 1 in 4. I went back a page or two on this site and read something like that. It made me pretty nervous. I would like some verification though.

Richsmom you are the best!!! sooo funny
I have not heard that statistic, 1 in 4 really???? Ok well thats interesting, I think I will keep that little statistic from my husband. I just wonder if they give them a minute to recover from the boot camp beat down before they get beat up all over again. Probably not, just disregard my even asking.
Joyce you are a wealth of information, thank you!!

Joyce Thank you again so much for the good info. Of course we are going to PIR We wouldn't miss it for the world. He can handle getting drilled. My husband and I are retired law enforcement. He's been getting drilled all his life. LOL

I read in an earlier post that only 9 out of 38 diver candidates make it.. That's like 1 in 4. Did I read correctly? Is that about right?

BTW That a picture of my little wee wee dog sitting in our garden. Thanks for noticing. We love that little dog. Wish we could breing him to PIR. :o)

Hi richsmom! :) My husband said that they had a meeting about dive prep and he said it sounded really intense so I am thinking he would have told me if he thought it was going to be just like BC.
I am not sure how active this site is but maybe we can resurrect! haha :)

Joyce Thank you for the info I Too just joined this site and my son will be graduation BC on 9/2.
CKH Fancy meeting you here :o) I guess as we are getting closer to PIR we're getting a little more curious about what happens next. Not sure I like the comment about pre dive being more like BC (even though ALL help is appreciated). If it's PT that's not a problem but I hope it's not JUST like BC. I would like them to feel like they are moving on somewhat.

Thank you Joyce. I would love to keep in touch and if you wouldn't mind ask you some more questions. Thank you so much for the response.

Hi! I just joined this group hoping that there might be someone who still visits here with some info. My husband graduates boot camp 9/2 and will do his dive prep at GL and then on to PC A- school. I was hoping that someone could give me an idea of what to expect. How long is dive prep? We have 2 children, what is life like to a diver in A- school? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

waterski34, My son graduation was a couple months ago class #1010 and it was at 1pm. He had the night before free and in the morning he was free til about 11am and after graduation he took leave for two weeks prior to reporting to his next duty station (Pearl Harbor, Hawaii). So I highly recommend you go to graduation its great to see the guys all dressed up and your son can show you around base. He should already have his flight schedule for Hawaii and he should have made any changes to the date and location of where he is flying out of also. If you have any other questions just let me know since my son just went thru all that and is also in Hawaii.
