Heard from daughter last night; she has been given the position of yeoman for her division. We are all happy about that since she is undes!! But I am wondering, there is an A school for this but she has not been there, sooo how does this work?

Did anyone find out what an undes pact airman does?  I would be interested in knowing, myself. I guess that is more specific than a regular undes airman?

My son graduated bc on 4-15 & is @ A school in Pensicola for a short time then off to San Diego-USS Ronald Reagan.

Angie, thank you for replying! His orders were typed and given to him, so they werent verbal. Somewhere, either on the orders or just was told, the term "soft' orders. I am going to make myself get use to this Hurry up and wait business if it kills me! He text me last night and said that everyone was just called that was headed to P'cola, everyone but him and one other sailor.

Maisy: my Sailor (pir 2/4/11) also AN, had a very short a school also and then was aboard the Uss Carl Vinson practically before I could catch my breath.  Check out the Pensacola Moms group--they are really good...and the discussion about arriving in P"cola is great.

Maisy, My son graduated bc on 4/15 also. He is still in Great Lakes waiting for his orders to go to Pensacola for A school. I have NO IDEA why he didn't go with the rest of the group, it truly worries me. He is also an undesignated airmen. Before PIR he received "soft" orders saying where he'd be stationed, whiched tickled me. I have NO IDEA how much I can be certain those soft orders are true.

Angie- have passed this info along to daughter, do appreciate your expertise! She did not fail out of A school, never got there!  There were actually two Chiefs that had tried to intervene but not in time, unfortunately.

Hi all ~ I am from Pittsburgh, PA. My son just graduated boot camp on 4/15 and is now on his way to Pensacola for a very short A-school. He is an undesignated airman (not sure how I feel about that). Hope to get lots of questions answered and feel better about this. Thanks!
