Hi Ladies!  I'm having a hard time adjusting your prayers are appreciated.  Victor has been there three well now four their time.  He really likes his sponsor, he says he is awesome :)  We sent Victor with a new laptop, an HP Touch Screen Laptop, and a Magic Jack.  Unfortunately his laptop's display stopped working just before he left the states (while en-route) so we haven't been able to skype yet.  We have messaged on Facebook, thank God for FB! Because the laptop is new it is still under warranty, my question is...should he send it back to us to return for a new one, or is there a warranty center there he can take it to?  I would hate to spend the money shipping it back and forth if he can get it fixed there with the warranty. Anyone know which is the best way to go??? Thanks!

Thanks ladies.  Schooling starts back up tomorrow and I hope to know more details by the end of the week. He is super excited about the opportunity and I want him to make the most of it.  I'm also praying that I can save enough money to go visit him while he is there.

my son is based in Hawaii but got sent to Sicily in November for the next 6-8 months. I want to send him his Christmas and birthday gifts but he never received the card I sent to the address he gave me. He has only talked to us once through the internet and it was very static-y and he is not to sure where to send things. Any suggestions as to how I can find out where to send items to or who I can get in tough with? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

belovedbyHim,

My son is a BU and has been in Sigonella for one year today. He has one year left there. He has done quite a bit of traveling around Europe since he's been there, and he got to come home for Christmas for two weeks, so we are feeling quite blessed. He usually travels on four-day weekends so that he doesn't use up his leave time. We unlocked his phone before he left and added international calling and texting so that he could reach us when he first got there. Right away he got an Italian phone plan from Vodafone. I guess it's on base. We keep in touch through skype, facetime, and facebook messenger, along with magic jack, which we sent with him. He had to buy a telephone for magic jack, but now he uses the iphone app instead. It seemed like forever before he decided to get wifi in his room, but he finally has it, and it is nice being able to communicate with him daily sometimes. I've gotten used to the 7 hour time difference, but sometimes his friends will message him in the middle of his night trying to reach him. I can't wait until he is back in the US. It's too hard not being able to see him.

Hi Ladies! Happy New Year :) Praying you all have a safe and wonderful 2014!

Thank you 25Navymom for the info you shared.  I will be sure not to send my boy anything that could spoil in two weeks lol.  Wow I wouldn't think it would take that long.  My boy gets to Sicily this week :) he is real excited.  He is in contact with his sponsor.  Boy I wish I was going with him :)  I need a vacation!

Hope you all have a great New Year, be safe ~ Hugs!

Hello ladies ,
It's been a while, my son has been in Sigonella going on 2 months we Skype often and send messages via Facebook. He did mention the cost of internet is $56 which he splits with his roommate . Not a bad price to keep connected with friends and family. The Holidays where a little tough for me and the family it was his 1st Thanksgiving and Christmas away from home. :( Somedays are better then others. Also , I mailed him some snacks and it took about 2 weeks for his package to get there. Just a little info to Share.
Well you all have a great 2014 and let's pray for all the Sailors that are away from home.
