Nancy, Here is the ombudsman's contact information. Send her an email & she will see that your sailor confirms that you are added to the list.

Hi Deb,
I thought I saw a posting on my Facebook about getting info on the Monterey and it included getting emails (I think) from the ombudsman. I thought the message came on Saturday. I searched through what seems like hundreds of FB posts and cannot find it. Can you help me find info on getting on the mail list?
Thanks so much!

Glad to hear you are doing well, Deb.  I just got notification on Facebook about connecting with the Monterey FB page and getting on the ombudsman's information list.

I am feeling kind of sad because I don't hear from my son much at all.  Of course, now that he is married, his wife gets the calls, emails, and Facebook messages.  She told me that the chaplain just recently arrived on the ship and Dan is busy helping him get adjusted to the ship.  This is the chaplain's first deployment, too. He did a free dive to check anchors (didn't know Religious Programs Specialists did this, but I think Dan volunteered.)  He said the water was so clear that he could see 20 feet down.  It must be beautiful in Crete!

Nancy, I am doing really well between updates from Holly ( ombudsman), and pictures posted by my son (from Portugal & Italy so far) and taking care of unfinished details the time has flown so far. Just got word that they are on a routine port visit in Crete.

Hey,it's been QUIET on this group since they came back home. Josh is about ready to leave the Monterey and head for Great Lakes as an instructor for A school. I have truly enjoyed this group and was encouraged during deployment. Good luck to all. Maybe we will get a chance to meet up again. Anita

Welcome aboard Sarah...My son JOSH has been on the USS Monterey for three years and has been on two long deployments. What will your son be doing? Josh is an ET.

Haven't heard from this group in awhile...is anyone going to the HC?? I will be there to welcome back my son and the sailors of the USS MONTEREY! Flying in the 16th! Hope to see some of you there.

I don't think I'd be too offended...maybe the Sailors were singing karaoke to "Anchors Aweigh" before going forward to do their service! Each one is important!!
