Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Thank you all! We are headed to VA to see him next weekend I'm taking my oldest with me. She is 8 and so proud loves her Uncle so much. It's going to be bitter sweet.

welcome Navy sister I just joined and these is the first time my son will be deployed so it will be a new experience, I am sure I will have my moments and hopefully we can all support each other.

Hello all, I am not a mother but a big sister of a Sailor fixing to deploy. My mom is Sandra AM Mom on here. It is very hard for this big sister too!!!! I look forward to getting to know all of you and the support we can bring each other!

Marcy thank you for the link you posted, it is very help full it is help full to read about the fact of sending extra stuff for others;), and yes you can express your concern to others about having one of your family members living but is not the same unless you are expressing it to some one who is in your same shoes, and not to same on something so minning full like these;))

The priority mail flat-rate boxes are so great, you can send up to 70 lbs for $12.95, what a deal! Info for ordering them (they're free) is in that tips & tricks page.
One more thing, some items are appropriate for using a space saver bag that you hook up a vacuum cleaner to. Jam & cram! :)

Hello every one these is a very help full site as a mother of a son who will be deployed for the first time and our first military in the family, I am not really sure on what can I send how big of a packages and so on, it is nice to read all these diferent ideas on what to send.

And is nice to read of all the diferent parents who are in the same situation for support.

My son used the Purex sheets also. I had sent him the starter kit and he told me the hard cover was hard to store so he got rid of it. I only sent the refills afterwards. Our deployment is almost over! Praise God for that!! I will see my son soon!
