thanks Navywife and mom! My daughter who just graduated from Franklin and Marshall in May is working in DC and living in Alexandria VA! At least DS and sister are close. There is however a great US Airways flight into Albany which we take often in visiting her and with all the wedding plans her flying home. AH HHHHH the small joys in life. I think she is visiting the newlyweds this weekend in fact. I will let them know about the Holiday lights. DS lives in Norfolk but I think they want to buy a place in Virginia Beach.

Anyone going to be on Whidbey for the holidays... We are coming from Texas and it would be such a blast to all get together.

Julie, I will always be the mother of the groom with two sons!

AH - I have no other sources for models, but cafepress.com has some fantastic framed photos of most Navy planes at reasonable prices. They also have a lot of stuff with all the squadron logos on them. I got my son several items for his winging and they were a big hit.

thanks flyboymom- I think the photos will be approved soon.

Congrats to Jesse and to Nick on his engagement- even though I was only mother of the groom it is a wonderful time of planning and anticipation- enjoy - another page in life ( we don't get any older though lol)

I'm sure that my DS will love being an instructor and at least he won't have to move.  He actually may have time to do things to his house that the last 2 years he just hasn't had time.  Like a back yard.  His friends call it Jurassic Park.  He's bummed out about not getting his first choice, but he knows this is the Navy.  My best friend's SIL is going up to Washington.  They were glad it was just out of the South.  Although the weather is going to take some getting used to.

JudyM - congrats on the sons.  I'm hoping for some day for my DS to find someone.  But as NancyW's DS says, if the Navy had meant me to have a girlfriend, they would have assigned me one.

Good news seems to be the thing in my family. Our older son, Nick, just got engaged. He and his fiance were in the Maldive Islands. No date yet. So . . . looks like both my boys got their wishes this past weekend. Jesse got jets and Nick got the girl!

Leslie- The Enterprise stopped in Bahrain last year and DS got 2 personally tailored suits there- beautiful- he is wearing one in the pics at his rehearsal dinner. I know what you are going through- it is tough but you are strong and hearing his voice along with the skypes will get you through- along with a lot of prayers. God is good always.
