Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

NavyNurseMom, I got the call signs from DS. I didn't want to do anything that would embarrass him, so I told him what I was doing. I also wanted him to pack them out to the boat since we are so close to Christmas. I learned last year that Dec 3 is too late and since they'll be in route to their duty station that the mail would just follow them. He thought the stockings were a great idea. I just wish I had been a little more organized. After doing each step, I thought of easier ways to do it .... to late. Oh well.

Leslie - yes, he applied the summer after his sophomore year and was sworn in Nov of his junior year - he definitely lucked out. Though, his first college choice was Annapolis, he received 2 congressional nominations but missed out on an appointment but in the end it's all working out.
