I know that I'm crazy about the tree, but this really was a beautiful tree. Oh well, there are more important things to worry about.
Rose - great ideas. I so totally agfee and will plan on putting some of these ideas to work.
I told my DS that I would make Christmas stockings in the Squadron colors for his Squadron since this will be their 2nd Christmas away from home. I asked for all of the call signs. Surprisingly, he thought it was a great idea. I guess I can still come up with some good ideas.
You all have a great weekend. I have horses to have new shoes on tomorrow but no plans passed that. I'm excited about that.
Had to share. I got back from Lemoore and went back to work on Weds of last week to find out that one of our team had been let go. We are now down 2 people and after being gone for 4 days, I found out that I am also handling his job too. Needless to say, I know why he was let go. I haven't worked on my own desk for almost 2 weeks now... just cleaning up his mess. Anyway, I called my DS to get cheered up. He was supposed to be coming home the weekend after next and I wanted to make sure that he was still coming. Well... he is but not until the following Monday. He said that he is going to be doing a flyover at the Oakland/Denver game on the 6th. So keep an eye out for him. I'm sad that his trip will be cut short by 2 days and the time that he is home is going to be really busy as he is gokng to try and buy a new truck, but I am excited that he is has the chance to do the flyover.
I also needed cheering up becuase my beautiful silver maple tree in my front yard was destroyed yesterday by the heavy snows that we had. We have had people comment on how beautiful the tree was. I worked from home and listened to all the limbs cracking all over the neighborhood and the loudest were from our front yard. I am just sick about it. I had the tree guy out yesterday afternoon and he was able to knock off more snow higher up that I was able to and to cut down one limb that was going to take out another lower one. He is coming back on Monday to see what he can do... but it is looking pretty puny right now. Obvious to say, I'm not a happy camper.
Good news though..... only one more work day this week!
Chris, where in Japan?
IsP3Orion, would love to have the images.
Kathy....Congrats!!! Your allow to bust with good news!
ISP3orion - just share your sewing sercets.
Thanks everyone on the nice comments on the pillow case - I've actually did the iron on transfers today during the game but had been "creating" on the computer for a little while. Was going to do maps of the countries he's been in, but decided on the country flags instead.
By the way, 2 Kathys, can you share the name of the Packer player that you know - maybe in a PM - love to know that we know people in high places :)
Leslie - bummer about Conor, but that's how the Navy rolls - mine has missed a bunch of those extra curricular flights too.
Congrats James on the winging, hopefully you'll be able to get a copy of the video that his classmate made, sounds like it was very cool!
