OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

rose4256 - When you can finally walk out that door for good, remind her:

"It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice." How insensitive!!!

Patty....Glad to hear your SD will be back for the holidays.

We still have to get together for coffee/something!  What are you doing on Labor day?

Hi!  Haven't been on for awhile....SD is back out on second deployment.  Good news is that they are much shorter than "normal" DETs so the Navy is saying (taken with a grain of salt) that they will be back before Christmas.  Missing two birthdays, as well as the birth of our new grandson in November.  Hopefully all will work out for Christmas.  It's just so anxiety-producing when they are gone...

Denise - I also hope this is it for you as well, I am so sorry for your loss!

Leslie - wish we could all be closer in location to be able to give you lots of hugs, but I'm giving you one! At least the boys are in the same state and hopefully, you will see more of them!

When we went on Tiger Cruise, they had a guy that had only been with the squadron for about 2 weeks before it docked in Hawaii.  He had a patch that gave his name and TBD as his call sign.   My son's is Jeeve's because he is a walking encylopedia or search engine, as in "Ask Jeeves".  The funniest ones that I have heard was from his winging class that had twins.  One was in each squadron in Kingsville.  "Mary-Kate" and "Ashley".
