Sheila....It usually not a good thing when we don't hear from you.

Sorry to hear that your children are suffering a loss of someone so close.  My prayers are with you and your family and friends as they travel this road.

I am just taking some time for me.  Went to a lovely ladies retreat over the weekend and recharged my batteries to say.  Feel very at peace with myself.  Its been a long year so far with all that happen with my daughter and Bobby's death.  She is finally coming to terms with her grief. I am am at a good place knowing she is doing better

Hope all of you are going to have a wonderful day. I am back to work this morning.  We are finally off the mandtory overtime, 6 weeks of OT has taken its toll on me.  I will be glad to work some normal hours.

Nancy, I just copied & pasted your words into an email to myself, for storage in my Saved emails.  I'm sure I'll be re-reading that many times over the coming years!  Thank you.  :-))

That one is easy - after advanced.   As Kathy B said, helos have only primary and secondary.  If you are in a fixed wing, it is after advanced.  My DS went through OCS in Nov 2005 and finished API May 2006.  He was in CC in primary until Dec 2006 and winged in Kingsville,  Feb 2008.  He was in the RAG from April 2008 to March 2009 and has been in his fleet squadron every since.  He is scheduled to leave that next spring sometime.

Nancy, There is more to do in Oceana but my DS says that since they fly over water every time they fly, they have to wear dry suits and they tend to be very hot.  In Lemoore they only wear them when over water or going to be over water.  Also, the weather in Oceana is a limiting factor as Lemoore is fairly temperate year round and their training is over the Nevada desert.  They tend to get more flight time in Lemoore also as they have more space to fly.  The East coast it pretty crowded and the area to fly is limited for military flights.... thus the over water all the time thing.  I know that Mike wanted Oceana because a bunch of his friends were requesting it also, but all in all, he likes it.  It would be a bunch closer for you too!

Thanks for the suggestions! Is there any advantage to living near the back gate vs halfway between Pensacola and Milton? My son is just starting.
