OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Shelia, if you go to your "My Page", it should show all of your posts and I believe you can then delete the one you want from there.

Rose - ditto, ditto to all the comments below regarding the tough times.  We have all been there and sometimes it's just easier not to share those - but you are definitely not alone!

Rose.... ditto.  Just because we don't mention it, doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.  I think that most of us don't talk about difficulties because our guys and gals don't really want them shared with everyone.  I have put on here how hard my DS is working out in his squadron but I don't believe that I have really expanded on any of the times that he poured his heart out to us during training.  That seems to be a sensitive subject.

Sheila, you might try sending a message to the Naval Aviation group creator, DJ...JetJockeyMom. (See at the top of this page.)

Or with luck, she will see your question and contact you to find out which comment you want to have deleted.  :-)

P.S. I just tried deleting my comment by clicking the X and it went away.  But I think that happens with newly added comments.  Not sure about comments that have been posted longer.

Geez Leslie, what a Debbie Downer you are!!!

Shelia - you go for it and have a blast (no pun intended)!!!  I just went to Kennedy Space Center while I was in Florida last week and would highly recommend buying the annual pass which is just a few dollars more than general admission, BUT, you get discounts on all food and gift shop purchases!!
