Hello all you wonderful ladies,
I have been entertained by all the posts, as usual. My son finished his last primary flight in Corpus on Mothers Day. We are waiting for tomorrow to find out where he is off to next and for what training.
IsP3Orion I especially enjoyed the information about the author, and since I am in Oregon also, it is particularly helpful.
I will post about my son's assignment tomorrow.
Kim
Hi all,
After ordering the Fly Navy books yestereday before Suzi's kind offer, I decided to contact the author to see if he'd either be in Oregon or JAX in the near future so that he could sign my books and here is the wonderful email that I received back from him - so if there's anything we can do for him - we should:
You were so kind to write and I hope you and you son will enjoy the books. As a civilian, I was so impressed by the values and spirit I found everywhere I went – among officers and enlisted alike, past and present. In particular, I was impressed with the amazing family and community structure that supports our aviators and all our servicemen and women. I came away in part wishing I’d joined the Navy!
I’ll be in Jacksonville at some point this year, and will be in Portland and Seattle in early August, although not sure of my exact plans (other than I’m climbing Mt. Hood). I’ll certainly post any plans on my website or Facebook page.
I’ve attached an overview of the book to this email if you want to take a look or pass it to others.
Thanks so much for writing; if there’s something that’d be of interest or helpful for me to do for Navy 4 Moms, please let me know!
All best,
Alvin
