I have the set that is between 1.25 and 1.5 inches. It is not too large. People can see what it is and yet it is very wearable. I wouldn't advise going smaller, like I posted before, the smaller set from Wings was too small to see what is was and much thinner. I love mine.

Julie... I took this off the wings website...

The Gold Market is very volatile at this time...over $1,388.00 per ounce today

Our full-size 14K Solid Gold Wings are $489.95 for now.

These are regulation size (3 inches)!

The E2 Hawkeye is the "eyes of the fleet". This is what my son flies and is now deployed on the USS Enterprise. He has a crew of 3 NFO's and a co-pilot. A large plane with massive technological abilities which as they say "first plane off and last plane on". The C2 Greyhound is what you are referring to as a cargo plane- bringing supplies and many important people on and off the carrier. From what I understand the E-2 pilots remain on the carrier where as the C-2 pilots are allowed to stay on land. (Probably a space issue)

Last word from Andrew was that they were not heading back up the Suez but were in the Red Sea and perhaps heading toward Afghanistan. You can only imagine how wonderful it is when we receive emails!! I've sent quite a few care packages and they seem to find the Enterprise within 2-3 weeks!!

Andrew said he was directly involved with the attempted negotiations with the 4 Americans aboard the Quest- obviously he couldn't elaborate but I got the feeling it was very intense.

God bless all of our military and the amazing job that they do both here and throughout the world.

Deployment is almost half way done- a big Yeah!! from me the mom:)

Just sent a portable clip on fan for his bed- as he said the AC isn't the best on the boat!!- but he loved the green mashed potatoes for ST. Patricks Day.

Also had a "steel beach" picnic on the flight deck where all of the officers cooked all day for the enlisted. Said the sun was intense and they all had a pretty good "burn" from being up there all day.

At present they are having a Harry Potter marathon and discussing the ins and outs of Hogwarts!! lol

Thanks for your prayers everyone.

What are good sources for up to the minute (?) info... I can't ever really get the navy.mil site to work for me.

As to Cargo planes on Carriers, you can find youtube video of c130s landing on carriers (they do not tailhook so they had to stop on their own) It's impressive to watch, look for it.

sure didn't cost me that much... are you sure... the full size wings are only 450ish.... they have a variety of sizes... i have the 1.25 inch ones... you might want to check again. I think mine were right at 100 a couple of years ago. The ones at Wings were v very thin and since I wear mine every day I needed more substance.... just check, maybe they are, but I really doubt it.

So glad that the pilots are safe.  Saw the news report, but they didn't have any info on the pilots.

I just want to say thanks to all the Moms. You guys don't know how important your cheerful words are, and how comforting. Only others in the military know what we go through.I am honored to be a part of this fine group!
