Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Paymaster on March 16, 2011 at 9:26am: I am with snowmc, I lost my dad 28 years ago to cancer he was exposed to while in Japan during WWII, I lost my mother 21 years ago. They were both in their 50's

With all their issues I would give anything to have them back if for nothing else but to see their beautiful, successful grandchild and great grandchild!

I don't talk about them alot, so this is painful

My husband and I have dealt with the "drinking" issue on both sides of the family....it's not something to joke about....it is a serious problem for a lot of people and I do know firsthand about that. Will keep your parents in my thoughts and prayers.

Comment by lou2949 on March 15, 2011 at 8:04pm: Shelia.....we bought a shower chair for my husband's mother when she lived with us and it was great...I think we got it at Home Depot or maybe another home store like that......we bought a shower head that's detachable so it really worked well. It's amazing how they will fight you on things. What might me easy one day, will be a battle the next. I learned you just have to move into their world and do the best you can. They no longer live in our world. When the time comes you know their safety is at risk, then it's at least a bit easier to make the move into a home where you know they will be well take care of and will be safe. Still hard though.

Will pm you soon...loved hearing from you!!! We find out on the 29th if DS gets jet or E-2.....very exciting!!!!! Hope you're doing well!!!!
