Okay, so I am hoping the worst is over for DS who is finishing up SERE either today or tomorrow - hopefully by my saying that he's not somewhere where someone will tell him his mom is whack - he'd probably just say "tell me something I don't know" :) Been a long week.
He reports to his new squadron when he returns and believes they will deploy in May or April. So someone who has experienced deployment and return from - if one could be present for one or the other, should it be for deployment or return? This all is really getting to be very emotional - my thoughts are so with all of you with deployed loved ones!
Well Andrew deployed today as his squadron flew onto the Enterprise. Our flights were delayed in total 8 hours but 15 hours later we got there to help with the packing and to say our goodbyes- oh my goodness so many emotions from your heart breaking to seeing the excitement and "let's do this" gleam in his eyes. Thanks for all of your prayers
Thanks flyboymom and Lynn for your comments.
First port of call- Lisbon- then I guess a lot of wives- family are meeting the boat in Dubai- nice!
For me back to work tomorrow in snowy NY
God bless our sailors and aviators and for the men and women who guide them
Sarah Jane......I would be more than happy to help you with wedding plans. Have coord. many weddings. Our son was married at the chapel on the yard.
Just let me know how I can help.
lou2949- husband got the tags at yourdogtags.com. Thanks for all of your well wishes on the engagement and deployment. We have a very close friend who is a rear admiral and he says that these aviators about to deploy are about to experience one of the most exciting times of their lives. I do hear it in my son's voice- very excited and ready to begin.
Denise- Thanks for the message !!!!! I will call you sometime in the airport- keep your fingers crossed about the weather! Hope all is well at home.
