Fran, I hope your husband recovers quickly.
Hi everyone. It sounds like our SNAs in Vance are enjoying the flying and quickly picking up skills. I'm glad they get such good training. The past two months I've been doing a lot of flying in small planes on my job. When I experience conditions that are a bit scary, bouncing around in the wind or icing on the plane, I often think of how our kids are learning how to react and take all those things in stride. It really is amazing what they are accomplishing.
I was cheering for the Giants too! Two of my kids went to college in the Bay area, and of course it was the closest team to Alaska. I would support the Cubbies in the future though, it's been what, over 100 years?

I don't have much to update. Mine is out to sea and hoping he makes it home for Thanksgiving. We plan to head to SD the day after Christmas for a visit.

I don't have much to update either other than my son is almost finished with P3 school in JAX, has his reservations (with the GF) to come home for Christmas!!!! He reports to SERE in January in New Hampshire (did anyone else's LO go there)? It's not Maine as I originally thought. That should be a fun time at that time of the year :( Then back to JAX to wait for official deployment info which he thinks will happen between March & May, when I'll be looking for those shoulders!

I'm glad to hear everyone's LOs are doing well both Navy and Naval parents!!

musicmom...So glad to hear that your husband is recovering. Scares like that are never fun!

Was visited last night (unexpectedly) for our DS's security clearence interview. Good thing I have been reading here about them or I would have been really confused!

Was in Portland, OR last weekend running an Irish dance competition. Tons of work but loads of fun! DD took 3rd in her competition...first time she's placed in her current level.

I was wondering too about no postings. Very strange. Ok moms..... haven't heard from my deploy DS for a week. Maybe by osmosis, we can get him to email us. With him starting combat missions, I would really just like a sentence or 2 every couple of days. I hate to pressure him, especially since we found out that he has a girlfriend down in San Diego that he met shortly before leaving on deployment. Things seems to be going ok and I would guess that I am down a few spaces in the email chain. I know he's busy.... but I'm his MOM.

Woa.....so glad everything went well with your husband musicman and is on the road to recovery. We went down that road about 5 years ago when my husband had a heart attack, at home, right after returning from the gym of all places. He didn't have bypass but had a stint put in an artery that was 100% blocked. You just never know but I am so grateful, too, for all who choose the medical field as a profession.......they are special people for sure. Glad your DS kept his food down during his flight......my son did too and I was a bit concerned about that.....haha.....of all things to be concerned about, right?? Keep us updated on your DH's progress!!!!

Hey DJ...this is a place where we Can vent thank goodness. I vented big time about my son's housing dilemma and everyone was so incredibly supportive....you have no idea how much it helped me to vent on here about that so I say....vent away...we're here for each other no matter what the issue is so no apologies needed here.
