Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Obama is there to make it look like he is doing something about the oil spill.

Son lives on road that connects Pensacola with the beach area....had to wait 1.5 hours to get home cuz of the hoopla.

Leslie--I loved and enjoyed reading the story about Brian!! I, like flyboymom, teared up just reading about this random act of kindness!!

flyboymom - if your son is ever in the Portland, OR vicinity, he has either a home cooked meal or a restaurant night awaiting him! I saw your note on the Washington Oregon page regarding him being at Whidbey and just sent you a friend request too so that we may connect that way as well! The Northwest is a beautiful part of the country!

I definitely will be on the lookout for one of America's finest military service people the next time I am out somewhere for a meal - it truly does mean the world isn't so bad after all!

Light at the end of the tunnel, ladies. My son who went through the flying stages at Pensacola, Whiting, and Meridian is now in WA state. We just got home from seeing him at NAS Oceana (Norfolk, VA) for dinner to celebrate his passing carrier qualifications on Tuesday! OOOH RAHHHH! Go Navy. Congratulations to you and your sailors who work so hard and make us proud.

I have to agree with DJ...JetJockeyMom - my favorite aviator has said the exact same thing to me on many an occasion - they do need to wait things out, be their own advocate and things will happen for them!

We just arrived in Pensacola and my husband is in the loonngg group waiting for API to start! We have heard SO many things about the timeline ... some say 2 months, others say 10? :) Also - is it true they are raising the scores to the 90's? AHHH.
