Just posted another idea in winging gifts that looks interesting.

Very cool - congratulationsl!!! We're in the Northwest too and would love for my son to go to the P3 squadron in Whidbey after JAX, Hawaii wouldn't be bad either :)

I am SO excited! My daughter just got orders to NAS JAX for advanced and will be going to an EP-3 squadron in Whidbey Island! It will be GREAT to have her back on the West Coast and a little bit closer to home :-) Anyone have kids on EP-3's or at VQ-2 at Whidbey? (I think that's her eventual squadron). Would love to hear from you, even though it'll be a bit before she gets there.

I think that P3s have co-pilots so it might be possible that you would have 2 SNAs in one plane. I don't know either.

When my son was in Primary, he had forms about mid-way in his training. His forms partner was just about finished with his Primary training and just needed to finish forms to go on to Advanced. If they work Advanced similar to Primary, they might put a more seasoned SNA in with a new one. That would be cool if they were on the same flight.

Leslie - oops did not realize that he was brand new - so I don't think they were together, but sounds like they were in the same weather pattern!

Flyboymom - when is your aviator winging? 2/26 by chance?

I wonder if he was in the same plane as my son (wouldn't that be coincidence), who was doing the same thing - popping in and out of the clouds - said it was a blast!

He's on a cross country today with another student - no instructors are on board at all - now that is freaking me out today! Sometimes it's hard to believe the Navy entrusts these youngsters with millions of dollars of aircraft :)

At least you know they try to keep it clean :)

Here's some info on my son's Corpus house that they will be leaving: 3 bedroom/2 bath. Master bedrom has jacuzzi tub and rent is $600/mo and the other 2 bedrooms are $500. 15 minutes from base - other bills run about $100/month split between the guys. It's a nice house - I've attached a picture of the living space.

Hope this helps - I can get contact info as needed.

Hi,

For those of you that have pilots moving to Corpus in the very near future, my son's house will be available - 3 of them will be moving on after winging. He is going to get me the configuration of the house/# of bedrooms etc. It's very nice and on the island-I'll keep you all posted - could expedite things!

He is also heading to Pensacola for Lt. Wermer's memorial on Monday.
