Is your flight refundable or is the date changeable? Something to look into as he's not guaranteed to graduate on time. Many things can cause the date to change, sickness, poor performance etc.

awwww lol I'm guilty of that too even though I know it won't be coming for at least another week. When I got the form letter I didn't even know it came until I happened to be standing outside talking to my brother and saw his last name and SR sticking out the top of my mailbox. I literally started screaming like a little baby!! haha it happens! When did your recruit leave for RTC?

oh wow. i guess it all makes sense. kind of hard to take in. i run to the mailbox everyday like a little girl. lol.

Yes... I think they wait to give them the letters so that they don't get overly homesick... naturally they all will be homesick for a while but after the third week most of the yelling calms down and they won't focus so much on missing home but will focus more on getting through the second half of boot camp. After they first receive letters I think mail call is every two days? (Can someone tell me if this is true or not?!) They usually only have time to write on Sundays or holidays... which means expect letters Wednesday or Thursday!!
Comment by JenS20 on November 17, 2010 at 10:13pm
wow, it really takes that long? after that is it a lot more regular?
Comment by navygirlfriend on November 13, 2010 at 9:55pm
So they receive ALL the letters then? Wow, my boy is going to get quite a handful of them at once haha. He said his division isn't doing well though :/
Comment by NS on November 13, 2010 at 9:45pm
can usually start recieving letters the third week. But it depends if their division is "doing well". most can recieve them by the third week though
