OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ladies did you know there is a Molly's Adopt a Sailor packing party in your backyard?  Did you know that Molly herself and almost a dozen other Navy Moms from around the state and country will be there?  It's on February 18th in Largo at the Army Navy Union Garrison from 11 to 2.    click http://www.navyformoms.com/events/tampa-bay-molly-s-adopt-a-sailor-... for more info.

I am from the Tampa Bay area. I am new to this site as my son will be leaving next month for basic training. I am trying to prepare myself for the leave.

Nothing really prepares you all the way for BC.  My suggestion is to use this site whenever you have questions and need to talk, vent or just cry.  There are some awesome "veteran" moms, wives, etc... on here and they will help you thru.

I am from Tampa Bay area, I live in Brandon, my SR is at the Great Lakes Boot Camp and his PIR is 6/1/2012.
