FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thank you for your post. What a wonderful thing you have done for our service people!  I thought it ended at noon, but you have made it clear that it never ends:)  A bagpiper?!  That's a good surprise!  Music always sets the mood.  Was there a lot of laughter too?  My husband wants to know what's in the boxes?  Congratulations on all your hard work!

Mamma K I am in Volusia county .. have fun at PIR  bring warm clothes and tissues lol and if you have them binoculars - they all really do look alike and its hard to tell which one is yours lol

Is there anyone from or near Putnam County?  My daughter is SHIP 003 DIV 085, PIR is next Freday, 2-18-11!!!  I can't wait to see her!!!

Hey Diane tell us more, where's the Tampa gig?

I'd even like to know where the South Florida one is too.  It would be nice to attend at least one of these functions before the gas prices make it impossible.

For those of you who live in South Florida, we are tentatively planning a meet and greet on March 6 in Miami Lakes.  Details to follow.
