Here is the latest:
Hi All,
This is a post from our PIR group leader, she knows Irene. Just to clarify its Colton (stepson) who is the patient and Paul is her sailor son. Sorry about the confusion. There is also something on the Molly Adopt a Sailor group but I haven't seen it yet.
Take care, Karol

Comment by Michele Z ~ Mom to David 7 hours ago Hi All~
Irene posted this on another group (her son is named Paul - step-son who had the gall bladder surgery is Colton):
"Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. Our family is overwhelmed by all the support. Colton is sedated and resting. They are trying to give his body some rest and time to heal before they go back and finish up all the surgical procedures. They still have to take more of the right leg, and they have to close up the left one. But, they feel it would be best to wait a little while and give his kidneys some time to start functioning better before doing anything else. "

So sad to see this happen to anyone. There was a link in the Texas Moms group to send cards etc. to Colton and others that have been injured or lost a Sailor, but for some reason the link isn't working anymore. Will update you as I learn more info

Hi Everyone: I wanted to share with you a prayer request:
Comment by Irene (Paul's Mom) 3 hours ago I need some prayers and I know that you all will help. My stepson who in the Air Force, went in for routine laproscopic gall bladder surgery on Thursday at Travis AFB Hospital. The surgeon knicked the aorta with the camera, right above where the aorta splits to go into the legs. When she repaired the aorta, there was still something wrong with the aortic valve and blood supply was cut off to his legs. Travis didn't have the right specialists or facilities for this type of injury, but they waited 10 hours before communicating that to his wife and transferring him to Univ CA Davis Hospital in Sacramento. Once he arrived by helicopter there, they immediately took him back to surgery to repair all the damage done, but unfortunately it was too late for his legs. They took his right leg in the middle of the night on Thursday and took his left leg Friday night. He has fluid in his lungs and there is some concern about all the infection getting to his kidneys, although once they removed the left leg and then took another 4 inches of the right leg, the kidney function started returning. This is a 20 year old, young Airman, serving his country. Please pray for him, his wife and all of his family. Pray for peace for all of us. Pray for healing. My husband (his father), is there with him, and the whole family has flown out there now, and I am going to be joining them on Tuesday. Please pass this prayer request to anyone who will listen. this is a horrific tragedy, but we also know that he is still alive and with us, and we are very grateful for that.
PLEASE SEND THIS ON TO ALL PRAYER WARRIORS! Thank you, my angel blessings ~s

Good Morning:
Well, the doc said that the spot on Dan's lung had not changed in two years - so no worries; and he is good with that. Thank you for your prayers. Monday he has the four hour test in Sacramento. Then maybe things will settle back down. Thank you all! My angel blessings~s

Hey - just wanted to share. On Sunday we drove up the Feather River Canyon to Quincy, and on the way back saw a bald eagel fly right in front of us - we think it was fishing in the river. AWESOME!!!

Hey Everybody: There are only 18 of us??? Umm we must be pretty spread out - - just to give me an idea of where we are (thinking of a spot where and when we can get together) - could you just respond with your location - maybe then we can figure something out. Anybody game???

Thank you Anita; Right now, Mother Nature can HAVE February all to herself! I'm so glad for the rain. It was getting very scary. Yesterday the wind blew so much - the 80 foot pine trees were 'dancing'. They sway so much it looks like a dance.
Hey, let's try to get together - how's Saturday, March 14th? My husband is taking our Grandson on a cub scout over night on the USS Hornet. One of the moms is doing a 'tour' and that would be cool to do in Sac - what is there that we mom's can do do you know? They are going to a wreath laying, and museum tour - with lunch of course! Please let me know what you think. I'm open. We have a couple of mom's (Folsom & Fair Oaks, Sac and Citrus Heights). Who could make that maybe. Le me know - I'm not that familiar with Sac any more - but would love to get together, and tour something related to what our sailor's are doing.

Hey girls. We were 40 hours w/o power. I'm just now getting things up and running - literally. I don't think I'm going out tomorrow. We've been hit with the storm and it is rain/snow now. We are right on the edge of the snow. Got a foot yesterday. Sierra Cement we call it - very heavy snow. I'll check in later.
About getting together - I don't know of anybody in Auburn or surounding areas yet. Jody and Cindy you girls should connect you are close to Sunrise (Folsom & Fair Oaks). Maybe when it isn't storming this bad I can come down. I'm not so worried about getting out - as I am getting back in. They are advising if you don't have to go out - don't. I choose not to go to church either. That's big for me!
Work was 'fun' on Friday. No power at the court house, so it was closed at 1pm. Got a little cold. I was the only one in our department or for jury services there. It was very quiet, and I am blessed with a lot of ourside lite so I got stuff done. No phones though. I was glad to get home.
Getting the laundry going just in case we loose power again. I'll check back and if the storm let's up - I'll plan to come down or around the mountain today.
Maybe tomorrow - but I doubt it. Good day for those 'projects'.
Did you all have a good Valentines? I was thinking of you.
