Hi, fellow nurses and moms. I have been a practicing med_surg RN for 18 years in Iowa. My son just left for boot camp 3/19/14. I am currently working on my masters degree but took this semester off since my son was leaving and my youngest son graduates from high school in May. Glad to have a group of people to chat with that have a lot in common:)

I am a Nurse in a Hospital based Same day surgery area and also work in PACU. I have been a nurse for 21 years, have worked at the same hospital for 20 years and have done a little of everything on the side. I have triplet sons who are in the Navy now. 2 just graduated basic training on August 30th and 1 will graduate on October 4th. It has been a huge adjustment. I still have a 14 year old son at home so I don't have a complete empty nest but it is awfully quiet!!

Thank you NurseNavyMom(Shelia)!  It has indeed, gotten better!  PIR is in 9 days (actually 8 days and a wake up as another Navy mom puts it!) and I couldn't be more proud of my son!  He's excited to tell us everything in every letter is doing absolutely great!!!

I have been a nurse for 30 years.  29 of the 30 have been focused on cardiovascular.  My baby ( the 3rd of 3 boys) started BC o 9/4.  I knew going in he would need his wisdom teeth out so waiting to hear from him!  So quiet without him here raiding the frig!  I look forward to chatting with all of you!
