Hey just found this group. My son left for BC on 7/21/13. I am a Home health RN in NC. I know us nurses look at things different so it would be nice to talk to those of like minds.

Hi all!

I am new to the group. My baby boy will be graduating boot camp in Great Lakes in 2 weeks. I am an ICU RN in Seattle. I thought I would say hello. =)

Brand new (and proud!) Navy Mom!  My son graduates from High School June 1 and leaves for boot camp July 22. I've been an RN at an elementary school for 9 years.

Hi there! I have been an RN for almost 7 years...I was a late bloomer. I work in the homecare field and ABSOLUTELY love my job! My son, whose PIR is on 1/11 would like to be a corpsmen eventually. He changed his mind too late and will be starting off in the culinary field. Either way, we are proud of the fact that he is in the Navy and serving our country!

Hi Stephanie - I've been a nurse for 25+ years. I was fortunate to get good advice and went straight for the BSN. I eventually got an MBA to break into management. The BSN was very good, you'll be so much better off with it. The masters....unless you want to do advanced practice, public health, or teach you probably don't need it right away. Work for a bit 2-3 years and find a field within nursing that you have a passion about. Then decide if a Masters will move you higher up the ladder. Good Luck!!
