Im on your team girl!!! Im on the same kick, trying to lose a few so I can blow my husband away at PIR. So far, its all about portion control, and not buying into "Health Foods". Some of those "health foods" are honestly the worst things for you. For example, rice cakes. They completely lack fiber and protein. Yeah they are low cal low fat, but youll just end up feeling unfulfilled and still hungry. Thats where the binge sets in. Fiber and protein actually curb hunger. Salads are great, but putting all kinds of junk on it is what makes it so bad. Ive perfected my diet and for the almost 3 weeks my husband has been gone, I've lost 7 pounds. So far so good. :D
I have had the opposite happen to me. Now that my husband is gone, I have gone back to my weight before we got married. I eat when I am hungry, not when he makes a big breakfast or want to go out to eat. Great job with working out 5 times a week. How long are you working out and what are you doing? Weights? cardio? As for the food. Most women have this problem (I have worked hard to fix this). Try to separate your emotions from food. Although food is comforting, you always end up regretting it later on and then you feel fat and lonely. Don't label food as good or bad either. Peanut butter is good, but in large proportions it is bad for you. Everything in moderation....
I'm right there with you! I did the Special K challenge and lost the 6 pounds, but the food is great, so I am just staying on it. I also play softball and volleyball (the sports I coach as well), and I am doing the P90X program. It's awesome! Good luck to you. Our men are a great motivator for us! But just know that no matter what he will think you are the sexiest version of yourself after not seeing you for so long. :-)

How long did it take to lose 6 pound?
It took me about 3 weeks because I also worked out and was gaining muscle weight. It was hard to tell by the scale, but I lost inches which was great! But I am actually still doing it. I love their products and it is working well with my workout schedule.
Hey NavyNukeWife, I was wondering how the P90X program is? I saw the commericals, but I'm not sure if I can do that. I'm bigger than the people in the commercial and I'm wondering if they have a beginners one? I mean it looks like you'll get a mean workout and drop some weight in a hurry. Any information you give me will be very helpful. Thanks :-)
Hello NY Navy Wife!

It is an intense workout. They do have beginners, in the middle, and advanced versions of each move usually on each DVD. It is fun but it is hard work that's for sure. I think that if you did it in moderation and listened to your body you could do it. Just realize that you might have to take it slow for a while and don;t get down on yourself at all for it. Cause the people in the videos are crazy ripped already, but they do show you beginning moves. I hope this helps :-) Let me know if you start it and I can help you along or answer any more questions.
One suggestion for you, learn a traditional needle art. It's hard to snack on cookies when you have knitting or embroidery in your hands.

I haven't started yet, but once things settle down here I want to start a bento diet. Properly packed, the box's capacity in milliliters will also equal the amount of calories.

The advantages of pre-packing your food is that you're putting thought into it when you aren't hungry. Having a 3-dimensional limit helps with portion control. It also helps to think about the food's appearance.

Of course, I have some natural advantages in dieting. I ruined my stomach a while ago, so I actually prefer smaller portions. I also can't tolerate many sweet or greasy foods. Our budget limits my food purchases to ingredients, so there is very little grab-and-eat food. I'm also the type of person who can satisfy cake cravings by making the cake and not eating it.

Once spring hits, I'm going to try to do more of my errands on-foot. Exercising does not sound like fun, but walking a mile or two per day should raise my metabolism and allow me to eventually maintain a jogging pace for more than a minute.
hey ladies, i think ive deffinately developed a sweet tooth while my hubbys away. i gained 10 pounds since september but he seems to like it :) i've also developed a shopping habit which may not be so good...so let join together lol...somethings gotta give ( preferably not my shoe collection)
