He will send you all the paperwork to get you ID. I just got my app from my husband yesterday.

I received my husband "form letter" yesterday. Does anyone know when or how I can get our military ids?

Yeah, our recruiter said we would get paid shortly after he left as well. But I had read to have 6-8 weeks of bill money saved up and he was in DEP for a while so we had time to save. Keep your chin up- Things will get better.

oh no it will be more than 200 :) you still get BAH :P but just plan for it to be less. nothing worse than feeling like youre going to get a bunch of money and then watching it go all to bills :P we still got plenty don't get me wrong, it was just less than what was expected

My husbands recruiter told us that he wouldn't be getting paid for the first 4-6 weeks, and when his first check comes it'll probably only be $200 due to unifor expenses etc.

hframge: while my husband was in basic is took a month and a week to get his first pay check. and it will be less than you expect because of the money they take out for uniforms. plus they have to pay for their own smell good stuff, razors, laudry detergant, and stuff to write home. you will get reembrused for his uniforms later. we got that money a week before my husband graduated A school.  :) its stressful but it will work itself out. my husbands recruiter told us we would get pay right away, he lied, and we were in trouble for bills. so you can either call and talk with the billing companies or get a credit card if you need to

We did seem to get all of the money from the entire 3ish weeks, though. So also keep in mind that the dollar amount you see around 8/15 will probably be more than you will normally be making. Honestly, between random deductions like the DITY bag (clothing and uniforms), I would expect to see the amounts vary until a couple months into school. We're still trying to figure my husband's out.

hframe- When my husband was in boot, we didn't get our money until later either. He left on 5/6 and we didn't get any money until the 6/1 payday. So, if you haven't seen it, it should be the 8/15 payday most likely.

My husband left on 07/23 for boot camp we were under the impression that he would get paid on 08/01. Does anyone know when the first check should be in our account? Thanks.

hframe0412- before you switch to prime, make sure your doctors accept prime. We had planned on signing up for prime, turned out my doctor only accepted standard, so my husband got a kudos for not doing what I had asked him to. lol The letter you need to get your ID should come really soon (which most places accept as proof of insurance). If your doctors office uses electronic billing, all they should really need to know is that you're signed up for standard and your husband's social security number.
