you will get a packet with all the tricaer information in it. Once he signs you up for DEERS you have tricare standard. if you need to take your son to the doctor before you guys get your military id you can always call tricare . their number is on the website, they are all really nice. there are different forms of their insurance. If you want tircare prime which means you wont have to pay anything out of pocket, you will have to fill out the paper work that will come in with your form letter he will send. that takes a month to take into effect. you are not covered under dental until you fill out the paperwork that comes though.

My husband left on 07/23 I recieved "the Box" . He told me that we would be eligable for tricare insurance as soon as he got to Tricare so we cx our sons insurance effective 08/01. I am wondering if anyone knows who I need to contact regarding getting information on our insurance or does it come with the letter that we are suppose to be recieving. It would be so much easier if we can a direct contact with questions. :(

My husband is in a-school at great lakes right now. I moved to be with him about a month ago and he submitted the chit ASAP (about 3 weeks ago) but hasn't heard a word about it. He's had 2 overnight stay chits approved since then, but not the live ashore chit. Any suggestions? I knew it wasn't promised, but was wondering if it's weird we hadn't heard anything. Thanks in advance.
