For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

BUT I do have to say while I wish we could have spent it together, I will always treasure the sweet letter he wrote to me on our anniversary, I wouldn't have gotten a letter like that if we would have been together, there are some perks to being apart I guess.

I cried like a baby the day he left. I did not want him to go, but I knew he had to... Out of all the times he has been away, this was by far the hardest.

Comment by gnomesweetgnome Ship 11/Div199 on May 31, 2011 at 10:56am: Kricia...so get this! We're only an hour and a half apart! I'm in Orlando right now (living with my parents until we find out our permanent station...well, "permanent"). We should definitely get together! :)

I can't begin to say how much respect I have for all military spouses. It's not an easy job, that's for sure. Did you just visit him in TX? I know where you're coming from...I can imagine that it's easier for him to leave you. Life goes on, even when half of your heart is miles away...but that doesn't mean it's easy.

I'm sorry you have to miss your first anniversary together. Congrats, though! That is really exciting. Think of everything you two have accomplished in the past year! You are much stronger than you give yourself credit for...I promise. He misses you just as much, if not more, and you two can make up for the missed celebration when you are together again! :)
