Ave,
I'm sorry! My son was sick for over a week about a week and a half ago! My husband is deployed....my poor baby had fevers everyday and wanted his daddy...I hope your son feels better....My parents are, thankfully, here to help me. Benefits of being stationed in my hometown!
well my son is sick today, he has a fever of 103.7
It figures that he would get his first cold when my husband isn't here, but I guess its something I'm going to have to get used to as a navy wife. My mom is here to help me through this, which I'm incredibly thankful for.
Ladies-just from another point of view on what the Navy is for me and my husband. My husband loves me and we will spend forever together. However, he didn't join the military for us. He joined the military for the USA and to protect this country and everyone allowed to live in it from harm. For those of you who have husbands that have joined for financial purposes and for your family, I understand why you would be their first priority. But for those wives out there who have husbands who joined because they wanted to serve this country, their husband's dedication will be to the Navy and then their families. I'm not sure who told you that family wasn't important, but I have always been told the opposite. If you know how to utilize the benefits the military offers for families and you support your husband and what he is doing, this whole experience can be rewarding. I love the military and have yet to have a bad experience. Granted, we are still fresh in our journey, but with a positive attitude every experience in life can be a good one.
Do any of you ladies take classes and have the Navy pay a stipend to you? I went to the financial counselor yesterday and she said that this could be a way to get extra money during the month. The program I think she was referring to is for dependents AFTER their sponsor retired or died while on active duty. Is there another program that she could be referring to? I don't think it's tuition assistance or either GI Bill.
Anyone?
