I just joined this site today.  I'm really new to the whole message boards but I'm a fast learner.  My husband has been deployed on the USS Lincoln for that past 5 months.  We're stationed in Lemoore CA.  Anyone else in Lemoore?

hey girls! i just joined this group. My husband left almost 2 weeks ago on a work up. i miss him. It is hard to keep busy because i have not been in Virginia Beach long enough to meet friends or get a job. For some reason this week has been a very difficult one. i almost feel like my husband is back in basic training.

JessicaB-Sailor Mom,

Wow!  Thank you so much for posting that video link.  I am new to the military-wife lifestyle.  My husband and I have been married for 5 and 1/2 years and he is finishing up A-School right now.  I am a little scared of the upcoming challenges that with make the last 6 months living apart from him seem like nothing.  You gals are all amazing!  Thanks for being on here!!

My husband is on fast cruise, then sea trials, then underway for a month... after that who knows... already I'm dreading it and feeling completely down and out about it... not to mention I don't know how to handle things with my 3 yr old who's bio dad disappeared 7 months ago.

Hang in there Christine. Some days are better than others. My husband left today for his first big deployment. I think the saying good-bye part was the hardest for me. i didn't stay to see the ship pull out. He didn't want me too...he said it would be too hard on me. He knows me well. Driving home was barely possible. Just think Christine. Every day down is another day closer to getting him home. Thats what helps me. I have my check off of the calender every day and it seems to help. Hang in there girl.

I am experiencing a whole circle of emotions this week. My husband just left for his first 12 week OCS program and I am 1000 miles away from him. He doesn't get to make phone calls for 4 weeks. Doesn't get his cell phone back until the 9th week. I really feel alone and sad all day but it is the worst at night. I have my puppies, school, and work, but there's no replacement for coming home to my husband.
