Hi Ladies! My name is Heather, My husband left for Basic on 12/13 his grad date is 2/11. He is Ship 09 Div 074 I am feeling lost with this stuff. I have not gotten any letters, just
got the pre written fill in the blank letter with his address, grad date
and a few lines he wrote me on the bottom of the last page....
I must say this has been alot harder than I thought it was going to be. in the 5 years we have been together we have not been apart more
than a week! Its not that I am so dependent on him I cant get by, its
just that I feel like I lost my best friend. I am so scared of basic
changing him.... I write to him everyday!
Anyway, my act was just approved so I thought I'd say "Hello" and find some support....
We'll...I am at work and the mailman came by and what do you know...2 letters were in the mail...YEAH! So you all should be receiving something soon! I mean I live in Texas and they made it all the way down here. I am sending lots of prayers your way and hope you all get letters soon!
So I will share a few words...he is ready to leave not because it is hard but because he misses our son and me. Most of his division is 18-21 and he is 28! He is Master at Arms so he said it has ups and downs...up is first in chow line down is when the other recruits dont listen or cant remember things he gets in trouble. He said it is cold but with all the gear it is not too bad. He asked how things were on the home front and if I could hand write letters so their more personal...well i would but he doesnt know I hurt my writing wrist so typed letters only! He says he is working hard so he gets phone calls...well it paid off because I have received two besides the I am here call! Then said some personal stuff to our son and me...it is so bittersweet and I am so grateful for everything he is doing for us! Just cant wait till he is done and we can move with him!
Good luck to all the SR's and hope all of you get letters soon! PIR 2-11-11 cant come soon enough!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AND YOUR FAMILY
