Hello My husband is in bootcamp. PIR date of 10/24. His rating is MA and his Aschool will be in Texas. With his graduation being the day before thanksgiving, do you think he will get Liberty on Thanksgiving? I wouldnt think he would leave out of Aschool on Thanksgiving. Or worse, would they make them leave that night of the ceremony? I want to book my flight but want to know what will be the best day to depart.... Any insight?

He probably won't. My husband is going to A School in California to be a Seabee too. He told me that he wouldn't get Thanksgiving off but he would have leave for Christmas.

he finished LS school in meridian, ms. i looked at apartments and got a bunch that i like, im just waiting for him to come home for his leave so we can go! we are at the mercy of the navy and it sucks!! i cant believe they only gave you 6 days to get to your duty station! did he not get any leave? i boxed most of my stuff and he doesnt have that much stuff so i could do the rest in a day. how did the whole moving truck thing work? do they give you money upfront to help offset the costs of moving? we are from ny and moving to cali!! 40 hour drive if not more for us so the moving truck i was quoted is like $1500ish. we could afford the truck but then theres rent, lodging, etc. to pay for when we get there. and i know we have to pay it all first and then get reimbursed or something. any help would be great! thanks so much!
