FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

ok thanks...the only reason i was thinking dity move was cuz we have my car and i have to finish out my lease which ends next year and i dont wanna put any mileage on it so i was thinking tow it with a uhaul or something. we just found all this out today so im just trying to figure out our options. he doesnt have his written orders yet so he cant even call his sponsor yet to find out what to do

Chula Vista is pretty nice. were about ten minutes from 32nd st base. from the area I live in, I can see Coronado Island. But yes, most of the bases are pretty close.

Ps..we had the military move our stuff. But they reimburse you for the money you spend in gas, hotels and food. Hope I was helpful

hi sam. Make sure to make reservations at the navy lodge. Ur husband should get leave time to look for apartments with you. Go to the housing office on base and they will give you alot of helpful info. I just moved to san diego from indiana with my husband. He deployed not too long ago. If you have any more questions, I'll help ya. :) goodluck.

hi ladies!! my hubby got his verbal orders and they are for san diego. need some help!! looking at apartments and have no idea where to start!! we are from ny and going cross country to cali...should we not attempt a dity move?
