The box... I made it a momento box, all of the letters that we sent to each other, all of the military info and paperwork, our jorney to this life together, it is all in that box. When it was sent to me, I left it full, on his side of the bed, so that he would be near me. Cheesy I know, but it made me feel better when I was crying myself to sleep.

I just wanted to say how nice it is to have a site that is soooo helpful and full of wonderful people willing to help each other out! I won't be going through BC or the box trauma, or the wait for letters till March or a little sooner, but I'm so thankful to have you all here when the time comes, I hope each of you have a great evening! = )

Hello All! I am new to the site. My husband left for OCS recently. I only had a short phone call the day he got there just to let me know that he got there.
I was wondering what is 'the box'? does this pertain to people after going to OCS or BC?

Wow! What a wonderful morning! My husband got his first phone call home. It was only 5 minutes, but it was the best five minutes I will probably have today! He said he is tired, but other than that okay. He didn't know his address off the top of his head, but he is in Division 347. After that, the five minutes was up and he said "I have to go, I love you, talk to you soon."

Best feeling in the world!!!

It took me a while to get the box off my bed an then I slowly got to taking the clothes out and washing them then It came time to throwing away the box. It is a process,, it was hard to deal with at first him being gone especially when since the first day we met we spent every moment we could together.. All though its still difficult i find myself more proud than anything and it helps when the letters start rolling in. We have a 2yr old child together and another on the way and its hard because im going throug the terrible 2s alone. All my husband would of had to do is look at him or call his name and he'd straighten up.
Once the letters start rolling in times going to fly and youll develop a great apreciation for the mailman,, Make sure you ladies start writing and encouraging them now so when you get the form letter with the address you can send i. You can also call the recruit withing 5 or so days that the hubby beeen gone and they can give you his ship and division number so you can start sending the letters out. Never stop writing, sending pictures and article also to keep them up to date with news although you may not get yours until 3 weeks in keep sending yours. Good luck ladies
